Cooper Island Boat Day

Morning

No walk this morning. It has been decided that Sundays are now officially “no walk” days. It’s nice to have a day I know I can try to sleep in. And I definitely tried to sleep in. Didn’t work, but I did lay in bed like 30 minutes longer than normal.

Today is actually going to be a real day off. We’re heading off to Cooper Island. Well, maybe not completely off, I did check out my Google Analytics. I may have found another bot, not as man hits as the last one, but enough to annoy me. Okay, looks like this isn’t the same kind of bot, this one is coming through Google Ads.

I guess I can’t say for certain that it is bots, but they’re all coming from the same network, and every visitor has the exactly 100% bounce rate for the entire month. Looking over the last 30 days of data, it seems like there may be three more, but their combined traffic doesn’t seem to be as much as the one I’ve already blocked from reporting. It is possible the traffic is legitimately bouncing and not bots.

In case you want to look into it yourself, they are “xlhost.com inc”, “hurricane electric llc”, and “facebook ireland ltd”. The one I’ve already removed from reporting was “amazon technologies inc.” The first one’s traffic is coming through my google ads, pretty sure it’s an ad-clicking bot setup to game the system for easy money. Not sure how the other two are getting here cause I can’t narrow down the results to just them.

Still no users to this site, so I’m not really sure who I’m talking to, lol. Soon I’ll make a post to my Facebook page to let people know about this site and eventually I’ll make a new YouTube video. I think at some point I may go through my old blogs on other places and bring some of the stuff here for posterities sake. Not today, just eventually. Although, thinking about it more, there may not be a whole lot that I care about.

I spent a bit of time in Minecraft trying to locate the witch hut I remembered. After checking all the nearby swamps I could see on my map I was unsuccessful. I’m not really sure if it is because I’m misremembering or if I just didn’t search the right places. I’ll keep looking because I’m certain it’s here somewhere.

Boat Trip to Cooper Island

Once again we were lucky enough to have the best captain, Elaine from BVI SNUBA. She always gets us where we’re going quickly and safely, and the journey is always enjoyable. Along the way we came across an enormous sea turtle in the water. From afar it just appeared to be seaweed but by the time we realized it was too late for a picture.

When we arrived, the Rum Bar wasn’t opened yet, so we popped the champagne we brought with us and relaxed on the deck. After a little while I went into the little shop there and bought a shirt and hat. I wore the hat for the rest of the day. The water at the beach was refreshing and clear.

Afternoon

We ate lunch at the Cooper Island Beach Club. While waiting for my food I had and Island Cruise to drink, it is made from delicious mango rum with lime, cranberry, and garnished with an orange slice. For lunch I ate fish and chips, although I kind of wish I had the burger. And for dessert was an amazing brownie with Bailey’s ice cream.

After lunch the Rum Bar opened. I was drinking Shipwreck Mules the rest of the day. As time went on the crowd grew. Turns out it was the last day they beach club was open for the season.

When it was finally time to go dark clouds were forming and a slight rain came through. The winds caused the water to be a bit choppy, it made the ride back interesting and fun.

Evening

Once we got back we met up with some people from the trip at Bath and Turtle. We ordered food to go, mine was to be lobster penne in spinach Alfredo sauce. While we waited for our food I had a couple mango martinis, they are absolutely amazing there. Conversation among those with us was of Irma, what it was like after the storm, outsiders’ reactions, and how the community came together.

The food was absolutely amazing. I didn’t eat a lot of it though, just enough to abate my hunger. Good thing too . . .
