Back to Cooper Island

Good Morning

I slept better last night, guess I just needed to find the right temperature. Still didn’t sleep great, but I also wasn’t tossing and turning all night. It is kind of funny too, since upcoming trips normally affect my sleep schedule. Mind you, it’s just a boat day to Cooper Island.

I’ve got mixed feelings about the trip, mostly due to my social anxiety. There will be a lot of people there since it’s the opening day for the season. We’ll have a full boat and I’m sure there will be a couple more boats going with people I am acquainted with. Then of course there’s the general public who will be coming and going throughout the day.

Stardew Valley

I played more Stardew this morning to kill time before we leave for Cooper. Winter is kind of annoying. Not a whole lot to do, I end my days with so much energy still. Less than half the season left until I can get back to planting! Getting close to completing more of the community center.

Cooper Island

The boat trip to Cooper was fairly short and smooth. The water was very calm, hasn’t been a lot of wind recently. There was only six of us on our boat. There was my roommate, her boyfriend, another couple we didn’t know, and the captain.

We arrived fairly early, only one or two other boats were already there. As the day progressed a lot more people started showing up. There were so many boats moored off the beach. Kids ran around and annoyed the adults. Throughout the day we ran into more people we knew.

Since it’s October they had an Oktoberfest themed special on the menu. I had to give it a try. It was a sausage with pickled cabbage on a handmade bun, basically a hotdog. It was good, although I expected the cabbage to be more like sauerkraut than actual crunchy cabbage.

As evening rolled in, so did a little bit of rain. Not enough to cause any problems, just a few drips on the way home. Even with the sprinkles, the trip home was uneventful and as smooth as the trip out to Cooper.

Overall, it was a fun day, but I just felt kinda out of place. I’m still so very new to the islands that I’ve met these people in passing but I don’t really know them. I’m not the best when it comes to small talk with acquaintances, and my social anxiety doesn’t help. But even with all that, I’m looking forward to our next boat day!

Doctor Who

I am seriously unimpressed. The first episode this season was good, I think. Really it could have sucked and I prolly wouldn’t have noticed because I was excited for it. The next episode wasn’t bad, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. Then came Rosa, that episode was just plain boring.

Now with the spiders? That was just bad. The plot, the acting, the dialog, horrible, all of it. Don’t get me wrong, the Doctor did fine, even her cohorts were okay. But the “businessman” was just garbage. Maybe it was meant as some kind of satire or something but that’s no excuse. The character was a cartoon, the actor seemed to be phoning it in.

I don’t know how to properly describe all the things that bothered me about that episode. The characters just didn’t react like any normal person would to anything, not even each other. Hell, even the timing and pace of the show felt off. And how in the hell can you just look at a giant spider and know it is suffocating? Really?!? Whatever . . . Hopefully the show gets better.
