Lighting Insight

Insight Mars Lander

Today’s the day Insight lands on Mars! The whole thing is being livestreamed over on Nasa’s YouTube Channel. I’m excited to see how things go. I wish I could go to Mars, be some kind of astronaut pioneer or something. Never gonna happen, but it would be really cool.

The landing was a success! I do hope we get some images and video of the whole thing at some point though. Of course, even with a successful landing, things could still go wrong. I’m sure we’ll get some interesting data from Insight in the years to come.

Labels

Let’s see, lots of work done today. Most of the time was spent labeling light switches though. So many switches in that villa do nothing, but now the working ones are all labeled to make life easier. The weirdest light there was in one of the outdoor showers. It’s controlled by a switch at the door on the complete opposite side of the building.

We also packed up some stuff at another villa to store away during the upcoming long-term rental there. The house isn’t ready for vacation rentals yet, so we’ve got someone renting for six months while we finish the work the place needs.

Photography

I’m running out of subjects for my photography. There’s always clouds, but not always amazing looking clouds. It has been a while since I’ve been down to the shore, maybe I should head down next low tide to see what I can find. Unfortunately, all the good low tides are going to be at shit times, no good photos coming from the shore after dark.

Here we have a nice closeup of a granite boulder in my yard. I felt that going greyscale with it was the way. I’ve got very few black and white photos on the site and I wanted something different.
