Back To Work (Monday)
Work
I did things! I started early with unlocking a villa for the housekeepers. Following that was a trash run and close-up for today’s departure. Then a stop by for my usual Monday walkthrough. I made a stop at the grocery store for cleaning supplies and picked up a few items for myself while I was there. Dropped the supplies off and then dealt with the last part of the website migration. Just waiting on the host again now.
Game Development
I’ve been away from working on any games for a bit. Partially because I’ve been sucked into streaming Minecraft and partially because I was waiting on something. That something is now in progress, so I finally jumped back in so I could take a look at it. The artist who makes the assets I’m using has added something I requested, a “break-down” of the characters. This will allow me to make a true character creator and allow players major customization options. The assets aren’t complete yet, but the beginnings allowed me to at least look over the files to ponder for later.
Of course, the other reason I hadn’t done much game development recently reared its ugly head. Stupid drobox and its smart sync crap. I told it to just download the whole thing, but it just didn’t for some reason, so I ran into all kinds of issues even opening the project.
Streaming
I did stream the game development, well, I tried to. Had issues again, which I thought I resolved, with DropBox. But then I moved into Minecraft again. Kept things going, a major build is complete technically, just need to dress it up a lot. I got a new viewer or two, hopefully they’ll come back again!
Tuesday
Work
Just another day at the office. Went out and unlocked for the housekeeper. Ran out to look for supplies. Nothing too major on the docket today. I did go out to the local hardware store. Was looking for some kind of putty that could seal a cracked pool. Wouldn’t you know it, I found some! Same place the guy who needed it checked. Yeah, turns out he asked the staff but never actually bothered looking himself. SMH!
Game Development and Streaming
Well, I didn’t actually do much of anything. Only spent less than an hour on it today. Something else unexpectedly dragged me away from it. I did get some of the new assets imported, although I feel like by the time he’s done I’ll have to redo them. No biggie, I can make it happen. Maybe next stream I’ll actually accomplish something.
Wednesday
Work
Not exactly what I expected out of the day, but it’s okay nonetheless. Started by opening a villa for the housekeepers. Then I moved on to touching up my nemesis. It was worse than I expected and I couldn’t really give it a clean. Yesterday, the pool looked okay, today, not so much. I only lifted leaves with the skimmer because the house is being photographed and I can’t cloud up the pool. There was a bit of work to do in the office as well, but that was quick and easy.
Streaming
More Minecraft, no game development. Steam actually ended early because of a conference call for work.
Thursday
Work
Every day I get more and more frustrated with everything involved with this life. There always seems to be some kind of hurdle or hoop to jump over or through. It also doesn’t help when I get no support, or when these issues seem so arbitrary. . . Oh well, whatever, maybe I won’t have to deal with it for too much longer if this place actually opens up.
Today was paying taxes, always a pain in the ass. It’s even more so since the government is doing everything they can to make money. Going back multiple years to find anything they can to tax people more. Once the housekeepers finally showed up I got to work. Took a decent chunk of time because I just couldn’t get my brain in gear. The weight of everything here is just crushing me. . .
Pool Day (Friday)
Pools
Ugh, it was the worst. All the pools were low because it’s been so hot and dry. And because it’s been so hot and dry, the water was off. . . Couldn’t fill the pools even once water came back because pressure was just too low. I mean, I did clean and balance all of them, but it was so hot and miserable. I got way too much sun.
Streaming
I was so miserable after I finished pools that I just chose to take a day off streaming. Even though there’s no headline up there, I did stream yesterday. Not a lot, but it just means only one day missed so far. Meh, that shouldn’t matter, I needed to just relax a bit.
Saturday
Accounting
As much as I wanted to just say “Fuck this day” and not do any work, it’s not really an option. I did my accounting, entered most everything I have at the moment. Didn’t really take long either, and wasn’t a pain in my ass, so that’s nice.
Work
Then I went out and tried to get something accomplished. Was going to add water to the pools, but of course, there’s no water again. Maybe Monday there will be water. Nothing more I can do really. It’s dry season, no rain . . . I made sure the propane situation up the hill was getting taken care of. Glad I don’t have to fully oversee that. Would be nice if I could completely relax when it came to the employees. You know, trust they can just do what you want, and not have to follow-up or oversee at all.
Restocking
So then I went shopping. I was actually able to find a few things I wanted. I found vitamins! Got some ice cream, even pre-cooked chicken! I mean, sure there wasn’t a whole lot of options when it came to jelly, but overall it was a successful trip. I did forget to buy bottled water, but I’ll live.
Sunday
Work
Wow, so last night, the intern messaged me around 11pm asking if we had any houses ready for a rental the next day. That woman really needs to stop working sometimes. Luckily, I didn’t really have to do anything, she got it all taken care of, I hope.
Streaming
More streaming, all day. Not a whole lot more to say.
Monday
Mental Health
I’m not in the best shape right now. The weekend going down the way it did made things worse. Luckily for me, my employee called out, so I rescheduled that, and kinda took a bit of time off. I mean, I’ve still been working, just trying to get my head straight. I’m having issues focusing and motivating myself. Hell, this is now a two-week post because I couldn’t be bothered to do it right. Meh, there is no “right!” Gotta remember that, focus on the good, learn from the bad.
Work
So, I still have the handyman to worry about when the housekeeper’s off. I’ve got him fixing a fence to keep some goats away. Sure hope he can do it.
Tuesday
Mental Health
Not a whole lot on the calendar again, so I pushed a thing or two back and took another mental health day. It was sorely needed.
Wednesday
Pools
So, with the weird water stuff and upcoming arrivals I felt I needed to do a bit of extra work on some pools this week. Usually it’s just my nemesis on Wednesdays but today I’m going to touch the leaky pool and the old place as well. In the end I didn’t do a ton of work, mostly just tried to add water. Power was out at two of the pools for a while, but I still worked on them.
Streaming
Still enjoying the crap out of Evil Genius 2! Not sure people actually want to watch me play it as much as Minecraft, but I don’t care. I’m having fun playing the game.
Thursday
Work
Bills bills bills! Just because I’m ready to pay the bills doesn’t mean the recipients are ready to get paid. “System’s down, probably won’t be back up today” is much too regular of an occurrence. . . Oh well, at least I still have all kinds of work to do to keep me busy . . .
Pool Day (Friday)
Pools
Started with my nemesis first thing today. Intern has something happening there this weekend so I wanted to give it as much time as I could. gave it an extra good vacuum and scrub. Next up was the old place, still having issues with water levels in the pool. Didn’t take a lot of cleaning work though. Skipped the easy house cause there’s someone quarantining there but leaving soon. The house on the hill has finally vacated! That meant I got to do a full walkthrough, although the pool didn’t take much work.
After a brief water break at home I headed out to turn off the hose at the old place and double-check I did the same at the house on the hill. Finally, a quick stop to grab lunch and it was on to the leaky pools. They really weren’t a huge deal, but whatever.
Saturday
Accounting
Went through and entered a bit of data but just wasn’t really in the mood. I got done with most of what I had, but forgot about a portion which I’ll do next time.
Sunday
Streaming
Took the last couple days off of streaming, but I came back with a vengeance today! I spent a while on channel maintenance, setting up some community polls for the next couple weeks. Still a lot more to do in regards to a properly working channel but it’s a start. Course, the stream was a stream.
