Pool Problems

Busy Morning

Started off normal, coffee, breakfast, shower, the usual. . . But then it was time to prepare for guests next door. Moved a crib into the villa for the quests. Then spent a good long while working on the pool there. Lots of scrubbing and vacuuming. I was finally able to close some valves with the help of a giant pipe wrench. Wasn’t quite the tool I wanted, I was hoping they’d get me pipe wrench pliers, but it did the job.

After getting the pool in shape I swapped out an outlet cover then ran the trash to the dumpster. There was a lot of trash too, at least 3 full bags and a bunch of boxes. Then I ran to another villa to grab a high chair to bring over. Thankfully, that’s most of the work for today. I still need to see about our pool, but that will wait until after lunch.

The Roommate Returns

So, with guests checking in today at the villa next door the roommate is coming back home. Her boyfriend is still visiting for a few more days so he’s around as well. Unfortunately, that means less time for games. But that’s okay, there should be more work to do in the near future as well since we’ve got guests in the upcoming weeks.

More Pools

So I did it, I took our pool system apart. Opened up the filter and hosed it down. It was in real bad shape. I also took apart the chlorinator, seems it has a little screen that got clogged so water wasn’t flowing properly. The system now seems to think the chlorinator is okay, but the salt levels are low. Gonna have to see about throwing in 200ish pounds of salt, but that will wait for a bit.

I also vacuumed the entire pool again. And the results make me think I’m going to have to clean the filter again already. It’s too late in the day now to worry about it though. Maybe tomorrow or Sunday. We’ll just have to see. But now things are probably going to start getting better in the pool. And now I’m no longer worried about taking things apart.

Oopsie

So, turns out I didn’t do the whole “cleaning the filter” thing right. It’s a DE filter system, which means I needed to add diatomaceous earth to the skimmer after cleaning. Didn’t know that! I’ve rectified the problem, however I may have messed that up too, we’ll see.
