Rain On Me

Morning

Started my day with a quick walk to a nearby villa for a shower. There was a little rain overnight but not enough to make a dent in the cistern here. Once I was all nice and clean I walked my happy ass back home. On today’s agenda is grocery shopping, I need more water and sugar.

For now, I watched a couple videos on YouTube and played some No Man’s Sky. Still collecting recipes just not getting the one I want. My bank account is up over 40 million units, still not nearly enough. I think later today I’ll try out that other Deus Ex game I have. If that game doesn’t pan out, I have a few others installed in my bootcamped Windows install.

I still need to get a little bit of work done in QuickBooks, but I have until Wednesday to do that. For some reason I just keep putting it off even though it really won’t be that hard to do. So many things I keep putting off. Speaking of putting things off, I did my shopping. No reason to wait, now I can just stay home inside playing games or watching tv for the rest of the day.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Well, I gave the game a shot, didn’t even complete the first mission though. Just loading up the game basically told me it wasn’t going to go too well. Warning after warning about how my computer doesn’t meet minimum hardware specs. It actually ran okay at first, but there’s a horrible lag time between when I push a button the controller and when the game reacts.

Luckily neither of the Deus Ex games cost me much money. Too bad I can’t just return them, I’ve had them for too long. Oh wait, no I can! Yay, save me some money to spend on another video game that I’ll enjoy more. Well, I guess it has been too long because they denied my requests.

Unfortunately, other than Dying Light, all the other story games I have installed are in windows, and I want to keep my OSX up so finish downloading some TV shows. I guess I could just do something else, or play a different kind of game.

Don’t Starve

The game is as I remember it. I actually have a couple saves from previously playing, but I decided to start anew. Unfortunately, playing with a controller is going to take some getting used to, especially since the Xbox 360 controller isn’t properly handled in OSX. Because there is no official drivers for the controller it is detected as generic and doesn’t give me the correct button information.

In the game I’ve made it a few days, found where I want to build my base, and now it’s down to collecting resources and building. I’m near some beefalo with a spider’s nest not too far away. Eventually when the nest grows enough I’ll move it closer, but so far it’s the only nest I’ve found.

Afternoon

Eventually I quit playing Don’t Starve because my controller stopped working randomly. For some reason the game just wouldn’t respond to it anymore even though it still acted as if it was working. I could play with keyboard and trackpad, but controller is easier.

Work

I finally decided to do more data entry into QuickBooks. Really there wasn’t much, although I need to go back over it all again and make sure I didn’t miss anything. I mean, I know there’s more data that will need to go in, and the data I entered today was incomplete.

Play

I then jumped back into No Man’s Sky for some more recipe farming. It’s really starting to get a bit repetitive at this point. I do continue to learn new recipes, but I get maybe 3 per planet max. I’m hoping soon I will have what I want. Although really with things going the way they are, I’m not sure if it really matters.

I did jump back into Don’t Starve for a bit again too. I played through a few more days, got some farms setup, and was able to get the spider nest moved. So far I’ve lived through two waves of dogs too.

Then it was back to No Man’s Sky once again. Starting to see a pattern? I am. I continued farming recipes. Not much to report, but I’ve picked up a couple more frigates, got some more missions going.

Evening

After dinner it was time for more TV, movies, and YouTube. I’ve finally got the newest Purge movie to watch. Also have Mr Robot to start binging. When season 2 originally started airing I watched it, but stopped about halfway through. With how confusing that show is, I’ve decided to just start season 2 from the beginning.

I’m really glad I did too, I barely remember what I’ve already seen. I do remember how much I enjoyed the show, no clue why I stopped watching. Luckily I have a good amount left to watch!
