Overnight
Sleeping in a foreign bed because mine’s in use by the roommate’s sister. Luckily, I have air conditioning! Of course, that’s useless when the power goes out like it did at 2am. And it got hot, couldn’t open a window because there are no screens. Power stayed off until it was time for me to get up and shower. Hopefully tonight will be better, and tomorrow I’ll have my own bed back.
Morning
After showering (it took me a couple tries because only one shower in the villa works right now) I trekked back down to home. I drank myself a couple cups of coffee while I typed up my experiences at Dragoncon. I’m feeling a bit self-conscious because I have no deodorant (it’s in my lost suitcase). I’m really hoping it arrives today.
I cannot wait until the roommate’s family leaves. Nothing against them, it’s just that I’m looking forward to a bit of solitude. I just don’t feel like I can do my usual thing when they’re around. Luckily they should be leaving fairly early tomorrow.
I called the airline as instructed at 10am, but they said no new luggage yet because there haven’t been any flights and I should try again in a couple hours.
Afternoon
Ugh, noon comes around and still no suitcase! They say they’ll call me. We’ll see how that goes. It really sucks too because ALL my clothes were in that suitcase. . . .
I’ve spent a decent amount of time watching Salvation. I didn’t realize there was a second season until a few days ago and I absolutely loved the first. I was lucky enough to notice it while flipping channels at Dragoncon. That is one of the downsides of not having TV service. Originally I feared they wouldn’t make a second season. Definitely enjoying where the show is going.
Evening
After 5 episodes of Salvation it was nearly time to leave the house. I have to meet someone to let them into the condo at Olde Yard. After that I’m totally retiring to “my house” up the hill. I’m hot, I’m sweaty, and I probably smell bad. I really wish I had gotten my suitcase today, and I’m worried I may not get it tomorrow.
After waiting a while, the guest showed up and I turned over the key to the place. Luckily, it’s air conditioned so my wait wasn’t too bad. Once I got home it was time to trek next door to relax. Unfortunately, the guy is still up there working so I had to walk back home again to wait until he’s done.
After he finally finished up there (and I had watched another episode of Salvation) I headed next door. I then proceeded to watch even more Salvation and some YouTube.
