Seaborne Sadness

Morning

Dawn of the final day. This was my last morning trek down from the house next door. It’s lovely having air conditioning to sleep in, but I miss my room, even if the bed sucks. Today is the day the roommate’s family leaves too. I am really looking forward to the solitude.

Well, they’re off. Now I have some laundry going, and I’m waiting for it to complete so I can take a shower. I just wish Seaborne Airlines hadn’t lost my suitcase with all ofmy clothes in it. Feels good to be alone again. I’ve been needing a recharge for days.

And today is not the day for a recharge, ugh. I’ve been juggling crap all day at work. Unexpected calls about booking a house and showing that same house to someone else. Gotta make sure it’s in good shape.

Fucking Seaborne Airlines

Also finally got the call from Seaborne Airlines that my luggage was available for pickup! That would have been great news if it came through ten minutes earlier so I could get the 10:30 ferry. Nope, instead I have to wait for the next one at 3:00. And I have to pick it up because of customs.

Afternoon

Getting to Beef Island on the ferry was no problem.  Ferry back is at 4:30, shouldn’t be a problem either, right? Wrong! Just as I got there a plane was landing so I had to wait over an hour for them to be done with customs and immigration before I could get my bag.

Now I’m stuck waiting 2 more more hours for the next ferry because of Seaborne Airlines. Of course, there’s nothing I can do. They don’t give a shit about wasting my time and money. Now I’m just going to sit on this damned rock, drinking my $3 bottle of Sprite while I wait.

Evening

Luckily I had a bunch of YouTube videos to keep me company while I waited for the ferry. Once it finally arrived I was once again left waiting. Thirty minutes before it departs. Then thirty more minutes to get back to Virgin Gorda. Eventually I made it back to Virgin Gorda safely.

After coming back to Virgin Gorda, I still had to run by Hunter house to see if it was in shape to show (and rent). Unfortunately, it isn’t. All the furniture was packed up inside in preparation for it not being rented (and potential hurricanes). None of the laundry has been done from the previous guests either. I’m going to have to get the housekeeper and handyman out there to address those issues.

I was happy to finally make it home. Of course it was after dark and late, only really had time for a snack before bed. Would have been such a better day if Seaborne Airlines hadn’t lost my luggage on a simple trip from San Juan to Tortola. I can’t wait until the airport here on Virgin Gorda opens so I don’t have to worry about this again. Next time, I won’t be flying with them.
