To Tortola and Back

Morning

Today we’re supposed to head to Tortola. No walk because of that but there wouldn’t have been one anyway because it’s raining. Hopefully that doesn’t affect our trip. I was so very happy to find that there was water pressure today. Even without hot water it still felt good to get clean.

Tortola

While on the ferry to Tortola I checked on my Analytics. The statistics for yesterday look pretty good. Average session duration is decently high and bounce rate is under fifty percent. I really wish I didn’t have to wait to see a whole week’s data without the bot traffic.

Looks like this site may have had a visitor yesterday. Hopefully whoever you are will be back. I still haven’t gotten around to “announcing” this site. I also really need to get to work on putting together another vlog, I just can’t quite bring myself to do that yet.

There isn’t much I can see or do in Google Ads from the app, but things there seem to be chugging along. CTR is still over one percent which I think is good. I’m pretty sure that the new strategy is still learning.

Reading my marketing multireddit I found mention of HotJar for heat mapping, and there’s a free version I can check out. I’ll have to play around with that sometime this week.

After spending almost an hour in the bank, most of which was waiting in line, we went to The Watering Hole for a quick bite. I love the food, got a bacon, egg, and cheese English muffin with a passion fruit mimosa. While waiting we we’re visited by a local kitty.

Local Stray in Tortola
Poor kitty just wants some food and water

The kitty was so very thirsty and hungry. We gave it a few bottle caps of water and bits of bacon from our sandwiches. Eventually the cat wandered off, likely because there was just too much foot traffic. Every time someone would walk near the cat it would scamper off.

Afterwards it was time to walk back to the dock and wait on the next ferry home. The wait wasn’t too bad, but they still haven’t repaired the air conditioning in the domestic lounge. Once the boat arrived we boarded and left Tortola for the day. The trip back was uneventful; I spent it reading Reddit.

Afternoon

After we got back home it was time to work on adding some details to a new villa listing. One of the co-owners had taken information supplied by the owner and wrote up a fitting description. Obviously, it needed a bit of touching up, but the roommate and I made quick work of it.

Later in the afternoon the local SNUBA operator came by the house for some help with her website. We modified a few pages and updated some social links. We even added Google Analytics to her site and I showed her how it all works. There really wasn’t too much to be done at this point, but there’s definitely a lot to improve.

Evening

Once again it was an evening of TV and YouTube.
