Adventures in Broadband

Flow

Since before I got here everyone on the island has been operating on cellular internet. This was due to the massive destruction of Hurricane Irma. Flow, the major internet provider on the island, is finally rolling broadband out. Parts of the island already have service and coverage is increasing. Right now, they’re just waiting on some equipment to get it into our neighborhood.

The plans are similar to what you find in The States. Different speed mixes, bundle packages, etc. It’ll be nice to have a faster and more stable connection. I’m excited for when I can actually download things without killing the internet connection. I’ll finally be able to play games online again!

Adventure

Right around dinner time, as I had a frozen pizza in the oven, we got called by a contractor asking if we had people staying in one of our villas. A villa that was supposed to be empty, locked up tight. Seems someone broke in and has been squatting. So we headed out to find the police, and brought an officer with us to the villa. While we were leaving we just happened to come across one of the people who were squatting. Ended up giving the officer and woman a ride to get the situation handled!

Today’s featured image is rough seas. Lots of wind cause many waves. I love watching the waves roll in.
