Free Time

Day Off (Sunday)

Factorio

Nearly all my free time was spent on the factory. It has grown immensely. Luckily, even though there are biters, they haven’t posed much of a problem yet. This map’s starting area is larger than normal and is surrounded on three sides by water. I’ve even got robots flying around helping me out. It all started with building a wall on the southern border!

Screen Time

I did take some time to watch a movie, too. Cold Pursuit. Interesting movie, a bit slow, but definitely keeps you hooked. Then I watched a couple more episodes of Good Omens. It’s a great show. I never read the books, but that’s okay, I can still enjoy it, right?

Back to Work (Monday)

Work

Had to hit up that leaky pool again today. Spent a good while there adding water. Didn’t really do much more than play on my phone while I let the hose run. Messed with a hen and her chicks while I waited too. The babies were so cute I just wanted to take them home with me. Of course, I didn’t, that mama wanted to peck my face off when I got too close!

Factorio

I found more time for Factorio today. Breakfast, after work, the usual. My factory has grown immensely, I’ve now got all science automated and have my logistic bots delivering stuff to assemblers for easy building.

Slow Day (Tuesday)

Factorio

Because work was slow today I got a lot of time in the factory. I’ve finally researched artillery, so now I’ve got big guns to protect the wall on my southern border from those pesky alien caravans! I also spent a lot of time working on my copper and iron processing to speed the factory up.

Summer Sale

It seems the Steam Summer Sale is now in full swing! As part of the sale, the final Deponia game is like 75% off! I scooped that sucker up. Also, I found a demo is now available for Automachef. It’s very limited for a demo, and I ran into a bug that made me have to quit and reload, but still gives a good impression of how the game plays. Pretty cool game. I’ll be getting it at some point.

Deponia

Downloaded, installed, and started! And already stuck! Yeah, I’m going to be cheating again. Only when I’m truly stuck though, and as little as possible to help push me along. There are a couple of new mechanics in this installation too. The game has already gotten me hooked, I look forward to playing it more as time goes on.

The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble

This whole adventure game kick has made me remember a game from way back in the day, The Bizarre Adventures of Woodruff and the Schnibble. That was a game I played a ton, and somehow never really progressed very far. At least I don’t think I did, it was a long time ago. I did find a site where you can download the game, and it runs on this computer! So once I’m done with Deponia, I think that’s next.

Hump Day (Wednesday)

Deponia

Spent my morning in Deponia while eating breakfast. Can’t seem to get enough of the game. Not a whole lot of cheating going on. After playing through the first game completely only now do I know about the spacebar. Seems holding it down highlights interactables. Makes me have to cheat less because I don’t miss the little things on the screen that don’t stand out.

Work

Started out hitting up a house that our handyman just finished painting. Looks good, checked on an issue with a cabinet door and I think I figured out how to fix it. I just didn’t have the right tools on me to do it myself. He’ll be heading back there to take care of it later. Then I headed over to the leaky pool and it seems the house’s maintenance guy has added water to it himself. Both the pools there actually seemed to be in decent shape.

Accounting

Did some more accounting to make sure I’m all good and up to date when I have my meeting tomorrow with the accountant. I’m sure there’s still some more expenses to put in from the intern, but other than that it’s all ready to roll! Of course in just a few days it’ll be July and I’ll have to reconcile the accounts again, and reconcile the roommate’s owner invoices. . . .

New User

Woohoo, got another new user on the site! If you’re reading this, welcome! If you’re not, you’re prolly another bot that made its way past all my previous prevention attempts. So just in case I’ve added another layer of protection to this site. I just hope it’s not too much and causing issues.

Meeting (Thursday)

Accounting

Met with the accountant again. Went over stuff and as usual she drove me batty. I don’t know what it is about that woman but ugh. Anyway, lots more work to do still it seems. The meeting just seemed to go on forever. And now my brain is feeling a little singed.

More Work

The rest of the work day was filled with running around. Had to bring supplies to the housekeepers, troubleshoot then replace a television, check on the propane at another house, and even look into the hurricane preparedness at a different house. At least I have pools to look forward to tomorrow . . . /s

Power’s Out (Friday)

Again

Power was out today for a couple of hours. Pushed back my pool service because without power there’s no running pumps. Luckily the internet stayed working (barely) while it was out. Both battery backups drained by the time it was done.

Lady Troubles

Also while dealing with no power I was having an issue with the lady. I’m not going to go into any detail, but it wasn’t good at all. Who knows what’s going to happen because of it, only time will tell.

Pool Time

Because of the power outage and the other crap I was dealing with today I kinda rushed the pools. I really should have put more effort into them, but I just wasn’t feeling it. Mind you, shit got done, just not as thorough as usual.

Work

Of course there was more work today besides pools. Something happened to the irrigation system over at the house with the leaky pool. Luckily I was able to repair the problem, but somehow the maintenance man for the house showed up just as I was finishing. I left him with the information regarding what I found and he was gonna check the rest.

Slow Again (Saturday)

Unmotivated

It was a rather slow day. So slow that I barely remember what I did. I’ve been feeling awfully out of it lately and unmotivated to do much of anything. I’m still getting work done as is needed, but other than that I’m retreating into a world of entertainment.

Featured Image

This week’s featured image is something a bit different. There was something about the way the water was moving on the deck outside my room that caught my attention.
