So it turns out the work they said they’d be doing last week on the cattle guard at the entrance to the neighborhood was rescheduled (without notice) for today. And by the time I found out about it, I was stuck at home. So I got the handyman to do some errands for me as well as other work I had lined up for him.
So, I tried doing some work. I really did. It didn’t go so well though. I just couldn’t bring myself to do anything. And even then my head was just going in circles because I felt the pressure of needing to work but the anxiety about the work.
In the end I went the avoidance route and just watched TV. I actually binged the entirety of Dark, a Netflix original series that my brother recommended. Honestly, even though I watched the whole thing in one day, I didn’t fully enjoy it. I think the fact that it was originally in German didn’t help.
So my site is doing that thing again. The one where blocks are showing up wrong when I’m editing a post. I’ve disabled a few plugins to test and see what might be causing it, but so far nothing has helped. I find it very frustrating and annoying to have to deal with it.
Working Again (Tuesday)
I did it! I did the accounting that I needed to work on, that I completely avoided yesterday. Well, not all of it, but a lot. Like, there’s more to do, but I totally got a bunch done today. Entered so much data it’s almost unbearable. I had to stop though after a while because it was doing my head in.
So it looks like they left the entrance to the neighborhood in such a way that I can leave if I want. Doesn’t look like getting back in would be too easy though. I think I’m going to stick it out here at home for another day. I’ve got everything I need, basically.
Moving Around (Wednesday)
So I actually left the house today. Was able to leave the neighborhood. Hit up a few houses and did some grocery shopping. One plumber is on another island looking for parts to fix the mystery leak. Another is jack hammering a wall to find a leak to repair.
On my way back, I drove past the entrance to the neighborhood and it was clear. Stopped by the leaky pool villa for a few minutes. Water is low, but not too low. Then when I came back they were working on the entrance again and I had to park on the street!
Finished all the digging out of the slime chamber. Still a lot of work to do there, but before that happens I need a lighting solution. So then it was onto the guardian farm. I’ve got the water flows worked out, just have to finish tearing down the temple and then add the soul sand.
Once night hit and my friend signed in we began a new project, a western style town! We spent the evening in creative doing some layout and building. Got some great ideas for the town, just lots of building to do. I’m also going to add a villager breeder there but I’m not sure exactly how to incorporate that into the look of the town.
Jerry is Coming (Friday)
It’s the usual day for pools, but with Jerry on the way I wanted to rush through everything. Rumor has it there might be a noon curfew, but I haven’t seen anything about that. Got through most of the pools quick today just in case.
So Jerry decided to just pass us by. No wind, no rain, nothing. Everyone was so worried and it just went north and didn’t affect us at all. There was barely a slight sprinkle at some point after it was long passed. . .
Spent a lot of time playing Minecraft. Continued work on my villager breeder and trade center. It’s really starting to come together. The design is still a work in progress, but I have an idea of where it’s going. I have been running into some issues with the villagers, but I’m slowly working it out.
Another day off means Minecraft for hours! This time my friend and I played on The Hive. Tried survival games and didn’t do too bad. Then we got hooked on hide and seek. I’m pretty good at that. We pretty much played it all day long.
This week’s featured image is some nasty looking weather off the coast. The islands in the distance are hidden behind rain and seem to just disappear.
