Lockdown Week Three

What Did I Accomplish This Week?

This week I survived another week of lockdown. Played a TON of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Lockdown Day 10 (Monday)

Gardening

One of the pepper seeds I set out to germinate has already popped! I grabbed an old creamer bottle and cut it into a little planter. Filled it with soil, dropped the little seed in and gave it water. Cross your fingers!

Rationing

So I ended up skipping breakfast altogether this morning. It wasn’t on purpose, I just wasn’t hungry until around lunch. I had the usual lunch, PB&J with chips. For dinner I ate the other half of that crappy frozen pizza from last night.

Stockpiling

I just realized that I have an electric kettle, lol. I use it everyday, but I never thought to use it to boil drinking water. So I’m going to start filling it and boiling water, then storing it once it’s cooled. As long as I boil more water than I drink I’ll be good.

Animal Crossing

In the game tonight I have a meteor shower coming. So I’ve spent all day promoting my island on Twitter. Gonna throw a party! I’m really hoping that I can grow my followers through all this. I just need to make sure I’m doing this whole Twitter thing right.

Had a ton of people show up for the party! It was great wishing on all those stars. Over 200 stars! I was up way passed my bedtime. Some people just wanted to hang out all night long. It’s great that even while under lockdown I can still hang out with people virtually!

Lockdown Day 11 (Tuesday)

Curfew

The days are starting to blend together a bit. I’m keeping myself active though. There have been a couple statements about the curfew but no major changes. Still no new confirmed cases. Lockdown is still on as planned and then some.

Rationing

Once again, I got so engrossed in Animal Crossing I skipped breakfast. I had the usual lunch, gonna suck when I’m out of bread again. One of the papayas I picked last week was ripe, so I ate that as an afternoon snack. For dinner I dug into my leftover breakfast foods. Good ole waffles and sausage.

Stockpiling

Two of my mangoes seemed ripe so I cut ’em open. One had bugs, so it went into the compost. But the other one was good, so I added that to my frozen stash. I picked another 6 mangoes from the tree. They’re starting to ripen out there, probably need to be doing more with mangoes daily.

Lockdown Day 12 (Wednesday)

Rationing

I skipped breakfast again today, not sure if this is good or bad. Can’t hurt to extend my food, and it’s not completely intentional. For lunch I had my usual. I’m happy I’ve been keeping up with MyFitnessPal. For dinner I ate a couple of easy breaded chicken patties. That leaves me with six of those.

I really didn’t feel like doing more than that. Soon I’m going to have to actually cook something again. I’ve also finished off a bottle of rum. That leaves a single bottle left. Going to have to cut back my pours.

Animal Crossing

Not a lot of visitors yet today. So instead I’ve been out visiting other people! I’m not so sure why people haven’t been visiting. It has also given me a chance to decorate a little more. Mostly I’m hoarding clothes though. I can’t find items I want to use nearly as easily as new clothes!

Lockdown Day 13 (Thursday)

Rationing

Once more, no breakfast. The usual lunch. I could always just go with the last of the leftover breakfast food for dinner. Maybe that’ll help kick me into eating breakfast again. Or maybe it’s because I keep eating breakfast for dinner that I don’t want actual breakfast? Who knows!

But with that, I have two waffles left and I’m out of breakfast sausage. I think the next breakfast meat is going to have to be turkey bacon. I really do need to start eating breakfast again. Maybe if i just ate the breakfast food at lunchtime.

Gardening

So many little plants again. Hopefully this time at least one will live. As it stands I have . . . 3 tomatoes and one pepper seed in soil. Everything has sprouted except the pepper.

Work

So today the intern messaged me to tell me she was leaving the island tomorrow for the foreseeable future. This means, among other things, I am well and truly alone down here. The fate of the entire company rests on my shoulders. Luckily, there really isn’t much to do.

Curfew

Wow, 10 more days of this. I don’t know if I’m gonna make it! Just kidding, I’ll be fine. I might just see the world a bit differently though.

Lockdown Day 14 (Friday)

Curfew

Just like I was shocked last night about how much longer this curfew is going, today I’m surprised by how long it’s already been. Fourteen days! Two full weeks of being inside except for a small exception as allowed by the government.

The intern was trying to get an exemption pass for me before she left. But no more passes are being allowed except on an emergency basis. I should just call the number and try to convince them it’s okay for me to be outside.

Rationing

Once again, no breakfast, and a PB&J for lunch. This won’t last long, since I only have enough bread for two more sandwiches. I’m thinking I might do some kind of mango pastry. I’m sure I can figure something out. I wouldn’t mind some kind of mango bread.

For dinner I cooked another frozen pizza. Ate half, saved the other half for tomorrow. I’m stuck in a rut, I can’t bring myself to cook real foods. It could be anxiety about the amount of food I have. Or maybe it’s a deeper subconscious form of rationing. Whatever it is, I gotta get over it because I’m running out of easy eats.

Lockdown Day 15 (Saturday)

Animal Crossing

Today was just like all the rest. Morning spent in Animal Crossing. Today was the first fish tournament. Had to go through and do my usual resource gathering. Run through the tourney a couple times. Did some decorating. You know how it goes.

Rationing

Once again, no breakfast. For lunch I finished off my good bread. I put the leftover crusty pieces into the fridge for later use. I’m thinking about boiling some eggs. I have three dozen I haven’t even touched. I can start eating a hard boiled egg for lunch, and eat some real breakfast.

Stockpiling

Throughout the week I’ve been picking a mango or two everyday. I’ve also been cutting up any ripe mangoes. Unfortunately, bugs have gotten to a lot of the fruit I pick. I have gotten a couple cups of fresh mango that I’ve frozen. Once I get enough frozen mango I’ll figure out what to do with it.

Lockdown Day 16 (Sunday)

Rationing

I ate breakfast! Three eggs (with some sauteed onions) and two strips of turkey bacon. I really don’t like turkey bacon. That’s why I’m eating it now and saving the real bacon for last.

Curfew

I broke curfew today, technically. I took the dog for a LONG walk. Stopped by a few of our houses to check in on them (and their pools). Everything is doing okay so far. Only about a week left of this shit, I think. Yes, exactly 1 week. The last day of curfew is supposed to be next Sunday.

Work

A tiny, minuscule amount of work today. Sent off an email with the company P&L and entered the two expenses for this month. I gotta get back into this work groove. The lockdown’s gonna end, someday.

Featured Image

This week’s featured image is from Animal Crossing (again). Celebrating a bridge I paid off with my villagers. Not a lot of interesting thing to take pictures of in the real world, so you get this.
